Job Interview
Thursday, April 24th, 2008So I went for a job interview yesterday at LeRiche, which I found out about courtesy of Sarah. The interview was for a Buying Assistant based in Portchester, which isn’t too far, and the more I think about it, the more I want the job. Its not something I would normally think about doing, but I can see myself doing well in the role and learning skills I didnt have before, which is always good for career development and increasing experience.
The interview was more of an informal chat with the PA, who was lovely. I got a really good feel for the role from what she said about it, and reckon I would do the position justice. Its basically supporting the buyer in product maintenance and administration. It apparently can be quite pressured, which I would enjoy, and needs analytical and numeracy skills, which Ive had plenty of opportunity to use during my degree. Anyway, she said that if I was successful, she would contact me about a 2nd interview in due course. Which she did. This morning. So now, I have to be ready and feeling confident and enthusiastic about my 2nd, more formal, interview, which is on Tuesday 29 April at 11.30am.
Hopefully my car will be in full working order by then. It broke down yesterday at a very inconvenient time (i.e. just as I was getting in it to go to my interview). James, being the fantastic boyfriend he is, came out of work and drove down to get me, to make sure I was at the interview in time, went back to work, came home and did DIY mechanics to see what the problem was. He’s so good to me. I really appreciate everything he does. Anyways, he reckons its the starting motor, which hopefully, he will sort on Saturday, weather and part permitting. If this doesnt go as planned, I will be his chauffeur on Tuesday, so that I have transport to get to the interview. His car is much better than mine. It goes fast and is purdy. Me like.
